The Blackmagic Design BMD-CONVMCSAUD4K, Mini Converter - SDI to Audio 4K is professionally designed allowing you to de-embed four channels of analog audio or eight channels of AES/EBU digital audio from any SDI video signal. It is made featuring a 6G-SDI input that is capable of accepting resolutions up to Ultra HD (3840x2160) and DCI 4K (4096x2160), and is providing four 1/4" audio jack connectors for outputting the embedded analog or digital audio channels to an audio monitor, mixer, or other audio equipment. The SDI signal is output over a single 6G-SDI connector, that comes along with the resolution and frame rate matching that of the original input source.

With the use of 6G-SDI technology, the Mini Converter is designed capable of supporting UHD and DCI 4K resolutions at up to 30 fps. The Mini Converter is also made capable to support Single Link SD, HD, and 3G-SDI signals, automatically detecting and switching between the different formats. A redundant SDI input is provided as an optional back up; with the converter switching over if the main SDI input is lost.

The Mini Converter's settings are controlled with the use of the built-in DIP switches or using USB with the use of the included software for Max OS X or Windows computers. The USB port also is designed enabling the firmware to be updated. For powering the device, a 12VDC power supply is included with international socket adapters.
