The Blackmagic Design Teranex AV is a professional real-time video converter built for broadcast studios, live events, corporate AV, houses of worship, and professional A/V installations. Supporting 1,089 up, down, cross, and standards conversions, it seamlessly converts video between legacy SD formats and modern 2K and UHD 4K workflows with extremely low latency. Designed to bridge virtually any video source, the Teranex AV supports NTSC, PAL, SD, HD, 3G, 6G, and 12G-SDI, as well as HDMI 2.0, making it ideal for integrating professional broadcast equipment with consumer devices. All video processing is performed in real time with approximately two frames of latency, ensuring smooth operation for live productions where timing is critical.

The unit offers extensive connectivity, including professional SDI, HDMI, and optional fiber optic support via a separately available SFP module. Embedded audio is supported alongside balanced XLR and RCA stereo analog audio inputs, providing flexible audio integration for a wide range of production environments. For monitoring and distribution, the Teranex AV features SDI and HDMI outputs, plus four additional SDI outputs that can be configured for quad-link UHD 4K output or mirrored outputs for multiple displays and production systems. Configuration is simple using the intuitive front-panel controls and menu system, while Ethernet connectivity enables remote management and integration into permanent broadcast or AV installations.
