The DX164-W is a professionally designed wall or floor mount expander made by Allen & Heath that is built intended for adding extra inputs & outputs to a dLive or SQ system. The DX164-W comes featuring a 16 high end, low noise microphone preamps that comes with independent phantom power LED indicators, made accompanied by 4 analog line outputs on XLR. It is being powered by 100-240V AC on IEC or screw terminals and / or a 12V DC power source (e.g. for redundancy) the DX164-W is possible to be connected in redundant or cascade mode for fitting any situation. A unique auto firmware matching feature is keeping the DX164-W in sync along with the rest of the dLive or SQ system.

Each DX164-W comes featuring 16 mic preamps that comes along with independent Phantom Power LED indicators, plus 4 XLR line outs. Up to 6 DX164-W units are possible to be connected to a standard dLive system – 4 with the use of the MixRack and 2 with the use of the Surface this allows up to 96 remote inputs and 24 remote outputs in addition to those provided by the MixRack and Surface. Further units are capable to be added to a dLive system with the use of a DX Link card or DX Hub.

The DX164-W is connecting with the use of a single Cat5e cable to the dLive Surface, MixRack, DX Hub or upstream DX164-W / DX168 with the use of a secure etherCON port. A second locking etherCON port is provided for redundant connection to compatible hardware, or for daisy-chaining to a downstream DX164-W or DX168 for additional remote I/O.

The Expander’s design is allowing for wall mount operation or, alternatively, installation in a stage “Dip Trap” that makes it suitable for fixed installations.
