Lectrosonics DBSMD-A1B1 DIGITAL TX W/RECORDER, TIME CODE, DUAL AA, 470-608 MHz
The Lectrosonics DBSM and DBSMD digital transmitters are purpose-built for the demanding requirements of film and television production. They feature timecode jam synchronization, hands-free setup and adjustment through audible tones, and a sleep mode that helps conserve battery life while the transmitter is concealed in a costume during setup. The transmitter can then be awakened for normal operation once production begins. Audio input gain can be adjusted in 1 dB increments across a 44 dB range, while the selectable low-frequency roll-off provides 3 dB down points at 20, 35, 50, 70, 100, 120, and 150 Hz. This gives sound professionals precise control over subsonic and very low-frequency content. RF output power is selectable between 10, 25, and 50 mW, with a special 2 mW High-Density Mode (HDM) available for extremely tight channel spacing and simplified frequency coordination.
The audio input uses Lectrosonics' proprietary servo-bias circuitry with a standard TA5M connector, accommodating electret lavalier and dynamic microphones as well as line-level sources. A DSP-controlled analog limiter positioned ahead of the first microphone preamp provides more than 30 dB of overload protection, helping prevent distortion throughout the audio chain. Its dual-release design maintains natural-sounding audio while preserving both short transients and longer peaks with minimal distortion. A water-resistant control panel combines an OLED display, membrane switches, and multicolor LEDs for fast and precise adjustment of input gain, operating frequency, and compatibility modes. The transmitter is powered by standard AA batteries, with lithium batteries recommended for extended performance. The DBSM and DBSMD are also compatible with the same accessories used by the SMWB and SMDWB transmitters, including belt clips, pouches, and battery eliminators.
