The Lectrosonics HM172 is a lightweight, comfortable omnidirectional earset microphone designed for clear and natural voice reproduction. Its discreet, low-profile design makes it ideal for applications such as lectures, theatrical performances, presentations, and broadcast studio work. The HM172 features a 5-pin TA5F connector for compatibility with Lectrosonics transmitters and offers a 50 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response. With the ability to handle sound pressure levels of up to 125 dB SPL, it is well suited for a wide range of vocal applications. For discreet placement, the cable is routed behind the neck, while a perspiration ring on the boom helps protect the microphone capsule from moisture. The flexible earpiece and boom allow the microphone to be positioned comfortably and precisely, helping optimize gain while reducing breath noise. The microphone includes two windscreens, a cable retention clip, and a replaceable HF peak cap. The HF peak cap helps reduce excessive high-frequency energy, including sibilance and other harsh vocal characteristics.
