RME Digiface USB 24 Bit / 192 kHz, 66-channel Hi-Performance USB 2.0 Audio Interface, 4x ADAT I/O DFUSB

The Digiface USB designed by RME is a portable USB 2.0 audio interface that is designed for quickly and efficiently transferring 24-bit / 192 kHz digital audio data in ADAT and S/PDIF format to Windows and Mac computers. Lightweight (at 0.49 lb), compact, and bus-powered, it is well fitted for mobile recording/mixing applications or remote monitoring solutions.

The Digiface USB offers four optical ADAT / S/PDIF I/Os and a high-quality analog line/phone stereo output via a 1/4" TRS jack, for a total of 32 inputs and 34 outputs when using ADAT optical. It also comes with the real-time mixer software TotalMix which allows you to mix and route all inputs and playback channels simultaneously, to any hardware outputs. The software features a dedicated Control Room section with Talkback, Main/Phones, fader groups, mute groups, complete remote controllability via Mackie or OSC protocol, and more.

The included DIGICheck utility software provides a suite of tools to test, measure, and analyze digital audio streams with a high-precision peak/RMS level meter, a spectral analyzer, a vector audio scope, and more.

  • Interface: USB 2.0, bus-powered, no external power supply required
  • Sample rates: 28 kHz to 200 kHz
  • 66 channels: 32 in / 34 out
  • 4 x ADAT / S/PDIF optical input ports
  • 4 x ADAT / S/PDIF optical output ports
  • Standard speed: 32 channels, 24-bit/up to 48 kHz, record/playback via ADAT optical
  • Double speed: 16 channels, 24-bit/96 kHz, record/playback via ADAT optical (S/MUX)
  • Quad speed: 8 channels, 24-bit/192 kHz, record/playback via ADAT optical (S/MUX4)
  • Each single optical port can use either ADAT (up to 8 channels) or S/PDIF (stereo)
  • ADAT and S/PDIF I/Os can be used simultaneously
  • One analog line/headphone stereo output, provides separate output for independent submix
  • All settings can be changed in real-time
  • TotalMix allows for practically unlimited mixing and routing operations, with all inputs and playback channels simultaneously, to any hardware outputs, with 46-bit internal resolution
  • TotalMix for latency-free submixes and ASIO Direct Monitoring
  • Compact, portable, and lightweight audio interface
  • Slave and master clock modes – Internal, ADAT input, S/PDIF input
  • Buffer sizes/latencies 32 to 8192 samples, selectable
  • Automatic and intelligent master/slave clock control
  • SteadyClock: Jitter-immune, super-stable digital clock
  • SyncAlign guarantees sample-aligned and never-swapping channels
  • SyncCheck tests and reports the synchronization status of input signals
  • DIGICheck DSP: Level meter in hardware with peak and RMS calculation
  • High-resolution Bitclock PLL (audio synchronization) in ADAT mode, even in vari-speed operation
  • Near-zero effective clock jitter influence on A/D and D/A conversion
  • PLL ensures zero dropout, even at more than 100 ns jitter
  • Low-Jitter Design: < 1 ns in PLL mode, all inputs
  • Driver CD contains drivers for Windows Vista / 7 / 8 / 10 and Mac OS X (x86 Intel)
