The Blackmagic Design BMD-CONVOPENGOF, also named as OpenGear Converter - Optical Fiber, is a component that is professionally designed for use in the modular OpenGear system. OpenGear is essentially an open-standards chassis that is possible to be mounted in a rack for conversion and processing work. The chassis is capable of accepting different modules for enhancing its functionality, that allows the solution to be expanded or scaled at will.

This module is carefully designed capable to simultaneously convert SDI to optical fiber and optical fiber to SDI. It is made capable to automatically switches between SD, HD, and 3Gbps HD-SDI video standards and each direction is completely independent.
