The Lectrosonics SM “V” Series transmitters are designed to provide a balance of extended wireless operating range and improved battery efficiency. Selectable RF output power allows users to optimize transmitter performance according to the requirements of each application. Certain models also offer a 50 mW power setting, making them suitable for theatrical and other applications where lower RF power is preferred. The transmitter input section incorporates Lectrosonics' servo bias circuitry with a standard TA5M connector, supporting electret lavalier microphones, dynamic microphones, and line-level sources. For reliable audio performance, a DSP-controlled analog limiter is positioned ahead of the A/D converter. With more than 30 dB of limiting range, it provides strong overload protection while maintaining natural, transparent audio. Its dual-release design responds quickly to short transients and gradually to sustained high-level signals, minimizing distortion while preserving the dynamics of the original audio.
