The New Yamaha PM5 Digital mixer is part of the RIVAGE Console family. Unlike the PM3 the PM5 has three touch screens and with the 96kHz processing its a great console for large events, churches, and production companies. The PM5 also known as the CS-R5 is a more affordable mixer compared to the Yamaha PM7. With a DSP-RX- or a DSP-RX-EX you can connect the RIO3224D2 or the RIO1608D2 directly to the system
The CS-R5 control surface is the core component of RIVAGE PM5 system, with 96 kHz processing. The console has three touch screen and 12-faders bays for flexible setup and configuration.Touch panels are brought closer to the user, making them easier to reach. The weight is 92.6lbs (42kg) which is incredibly light.
The Yamaha RIVAGE PM series is widely recognized for its exceptional sound quality and flexible control capabilities. With the introduction of the CS-R5 and CS-R3 control surfaces, along with the DSP-RX and DSP-RX-EX engines, the system now offers even greater versatility and scalability for a wide range of applications.
The CS-R5 control surface, designed for RIVAGE PM5 systems, features three large touchscreens and a streamlined selected channel section for smooth, intuitive operation. Its reduced physical depth improves comfort and sightlines, making it easier to work efficiently in demanding environments.
The CS-R3, built for RIVAGE PM3 systems, delivers full RIVAGE PM functionality in a compact design measuring just 1145 mm wide. It includes a single large touchscreen and a simplified control layout, making it both space-efficient and easy to use—especially for engineers familiar with Yamaha CL and QL series consoles.
Both control surfaces share a consistent fader configuration, with three bays of 12 faders each, ensuring a familiar workflow across the series. The combination of touchscreen interfaces and physical controls provides a balance of precision and ease of use.
On the processing side, the DSP-RX engine supports up to 120 inputs, 48 mix buses, and 24 matrices, while the DSP-RX-EX expands capacity to 288 inputs, 72 mix buses, and 36 matrices. This range of options allows users to tailor systems to productions of virtually any size.
These hardware additions are supported by firmware version 4.0, which introduces various control enhancements and includes Eventide’s SP2016 reverb plugin. The update is available across the entire RIVAGE PM lineup, further improving overall performance and functionality.
