The Audix SCX25APS Piano Miking System that is use for making the SCX25A, in reproduction of piano sound which is extremely challenging, optimum piano microphone for live sound or broadcast environments.
The Audix SCX25APS is a professional studio condenser microphone designed elegantly and with a patented capsule suspension system. Unlike any other of its kind, it is shockmounted within an intricate machined brass ring, the Audix SCX25APS capsule is completely isolated from the mic body and electronics. By minimizing acoustic reflections and diffractions successfully, the Audix SCX25APS is able to deliver a open-air, pure sound with exceptional realism and detail.
The Audix SCX25APS equipped with a smooth uniform frequency response from 20 Hz - 20 kHz, is also very consistent when responding to on and off-axis signals, it exhibits an excellent phase coherence and minimal proximity effect. The Audix SCX25APS comes with a wide cardioid polar pattern which is enabling the sound engineer to have the opportunity of blending the sound of the instrument or vocal with the sound of the room. Other features include a one-inch (25 mm) gold vapor capsule, extremely small footprint and an miniaturized electronics. The Audix SCX25APS will handle SPL in excess of 135 dB and will be able to provide up to 20 dB of ambient noise rejection. For a lower output option, the SCX25ALO is available with a max SPL limit of 150 dB and a sensitivity of 4.9 mV/Pa.
In addition to vocals, the SCX25A is ideally suited to capture acoustic instruments such as piano, guitar, vibes, woodwinds, brass, percussion toys, drum overheads, choir, orchestra and symphony sectionals.
The SCX25A is manufactured with a precision machined brass body, innovative capsule suspension system, steel mesh grill, black multi-layer class ‘A’ liquid finish and gold plated XLR connector.
