The QFLEX 48 is a digitally steerable column array loudspeaker, equipped with integrated power and advanced DSP capabilities, tailored for demanding installations like houses of worship, convention centers, malls, and cultural venues. Its core, the VNET loudspeaker networking platform, incorporates software and hardware DSP elements to ensure superior speech clarity, impactful music delivery, and comprehensive monitoring of the entire loudspeaker system.

The QFLEX 48 introduces groundbreaking BeamEngine technology, which digitally steers full-range sound away from reflective surfaces. Its intuitive GUI, the BeamEngine, empowers designers to define target areas and generates a tailored steering algorithm. Unlike conventional systems, this approach provides asymmetrical patterns that deliver consistent sound pressure levels (SPL) across both near and far fields, ensuring exceptional coverage and intelligibility while maintaining an aesthetically pleasing design.

Drivers, Power & DSP

The QFLEX 48-column array loudspeaker comprises sixteen 4” low-frequency drivers, sixteen x 3” low-frequency drivers, and sixteen x 1” high-frequency drivers, each with their own individual 100-watt Class D amplifier and integrated cutting-edge DSP. Presented in a high-density array with proportional frequency spacing, QFLEX 48’s drivers provide digitally steerable coverage for distances up to 80 m (262’) – with no aliasing artifacts. Scalability

The QFLEX 48 is designed not only to deliver top-tier performance as a standalone self-powered column array but also as an excellent option for multi-column configurations involving other TANNOY VNET-enabled products. These units connect via rugged Neutrik Ethercon connectors, compatible with standard RJ45 plugs and CAT5 cables. With each speaker having a unique address, the network auto-locates them, streamlining the setup process.

Build Quality

The architecturally styled corrosion-resistant aluminum enclosure and perforated grille are finished in a semi-matt white paint. The QFLEX 48 also includes the necessary custom mounting hardware for quick and accurate installation. Mains input and output link power connectors are Neutrik powerCON.
