DACS PURITY Audiofile Headphone Amp
We aimed to redefine the standard for mastering and mixing on headphones by leveraging our exceptional lineage and expertise. For over two decades, the DACS Clarity HeadLite has been recognized for its power and accuracy in driving studio headphones. With the HeadLite3+ and its +Power modules, we addressed the growing demand for high-power, high-fidelity headphones. But we didn't stop there. Our goal was to engineer an amplifier capable of optimizing the performance of any headphones. After an intensive two-year research and development process, we proudly introduce the Purity Headphone Amplifier. Featuring Pure Class A output and generous transient-loving headroom, it elevates the sound of any headphone to its utmost potential. Discover our journey below as we meticulously craft each element to perfection, culminating in the Purity Headphone Amplifier.
Drive Topology
Extensive headphone tests verify that DACS's Pure Class A architecture performs exceptionally well over a wide range of headphones and listening intensities. The Purity BDZ® Power Supply and Purity Headphone Amplifier produce a lot of heat when operating in Class A. No matter the load, there is enough airflow provided by the case and the silent, inaudible Noctua fan to maintain a steady temperature.
Differential Input
Hand-trimmed CMRR[1] is used in the instrumentation format of the balanced input of DACS to provide the most precise interference-free signal.
Differential Output
Then we looked at ‘balanced’ headphones. The Purity Headphone Amplifier provides remarkably low cross talk[2] between the two independent amplifier channels; using balanced output connections, that channel independence is maintained without compromise from the Purity BDZ® Power Supply to the ears.
- Common Mode Rejection Ratio, a measure of the circuit's ability to reject interference
- Through its super steady Zero Ohm output impedance and a star earth scheme
Purity Power Supply
With a Zero Ohm output impedance, the new Purity BDZ® Power Supply features an op-amp-based architecture that is incredibly stable and low noise. Headphones that are driven strongly might cause instability by producing back EMF, or current flowing back towards the voltage regulator. This back EMF severely impairs the performance of the PSU in traditional PSU designs, causing the amplifier to lose control over the headphones and produce distortion. Regardless of what is happening at the headphones, DACS's exclusive Purity BDZ® Power Supply design sinks the current away to guarantee zero Ohm impedance and complete output voltage stability.
The Listening Experience
It everything sounds to you. Every subtle variation in space, tone, and musical range, as well as every small tweak. Great mixes will be shown in all their brilliance, while poor mixes will be exposed. You'll get more out of your headphones than you ever imagined. Have fun.
