In recording studios and radio stations, the dark bronze Microtech Gefell UM 930 Twin is a multi-pattern large-diaphragm condenser microphone that provides ultralow noise and versatile pickup responses for accurate vocal and instrument recordings, including strings, percussion, and guitars. It is equally ideal for usage as a main mic or as a component of stereo and mid-side configurations thanks to its dual-capsule architecture, which consists of one cardioid capsule and a second capsule that produces five selectable polar patterns: omnidirectional, cardioid, wide cardioid, super cardioid, and figure-8. Two distinct directional patterns can be chosen simultaneously in addition to standard switching patterns. The transformerless circuitry generates only 7 dBA of self-noise and includes a transistor amplifier. With a range of mic preamps, the UM 930 Twin's excellent sensitivity and 48V phantom powering technique guarantee dependable performance. Together with a protective case to keep the microphone and the mount safe from handling noise and vibrations, an EA 92 shock mount is included.
