The RME OctaMicXTC is a professional eight-channel digital microphone preamp & USB 2.0 interface that features recording up to 192 kHz, provides AES/EBU and ADAT digital input/output, and supports the powerful multi-channel audio protocol(MADI).

The OctaMic XTC is embedded with one MADI optical port that offers up to 64 channels of MADI I/O at 48 kHz. It also boasts eight balanced XLR/TRS mic/line inputs. Four of these inputs feature a pad for recording loud sound sources, and the other four can be switched to accept direct Hi-Z input from electric guitars and basses. Each of the eight inputs is fitted with a high-quality digitally controlled preamp.

Furthermore, the unit features a D-sub 25 connector that provides four AES/EBU inputs and four AES/EBU outputs. It also has one optical ADAT input and two ADAT outputs, each of which are capable of carrying eight channels of digital audio a piece.

The OctaMic XTC also provides ample MIDI connectivity, equipped with two 5-pin DIN standard MIDI I/O connectors, plus it allows for two sets of MIDI I/O to be transmitted over USB and an additional set over the optical MADI port.
  • All analog and digital inputs, including up to 64 MADI channels and 8 AES/EBU audio channels, can be freely patched to any output. Up to 24 channels can be carried over the USB 2.0 port
