The Metric Halo Character is a plug-in designed to model the functioning of various analog circuits, that includes the microphone preamps, DIs and EQs that are used for recording, mastering and mixing. In particular, the plug-in is designed seeking to mimic the way analog circuits add distortion. The plug-in comes featuring over twenty different models, that incorporates the sound of tubes, solid state devices, and transformers.

A Drive control is designed for allowing the pushing of the distortion harder for over-the-top sound mangling. The software is capable of utilizing a complementary gain amplifier, that means that as the Drive is increased to get more harmonic distortion, so the overall gain is automatically lowered by the similar amount after the model. This allow for changing the tonal quality with no changing the final output level.

With full supports of Pro Tools' automation, Drive level changes is possible to be recorded for creating a dramatic changes in a particular sound without needing to ride the output level during the playback.

Note: Requires an iLok 2 key if one is not already present on the system. A single license authorizes all specified plug-in formats.

Drive

• Controls the gain of the signal feeding the Character model
