The Warm Audio WA-84 comes in two color variants: WA-84-C-N for Nickel and WA-84-C-B for Black color. It is built based on classic microphone circuitry and it is a fully discrete, small-diaphragm condenser microphone that is professionally designed well suited for professional studios, home studios, live sound, and broadcast applications. The WA-84 is capable to excel at capturing a variety of sources, that includes the acoustic/electric bass, acoustic/electric guitars, drums, pianos, strings, brass, woodwinds, and an array of other instruments.
The WA-84 comes featuring a heavy nickel CineMag USA transformer in its signal path designed for warming up and enlarge the sound source. Also, included are audiophile components including polystyrene and Wima capacitors and a Fairchild FET, which all are giving its contribution for the production of a gorgeous sounding circuit along with great signal integrity and a smooth boutique tone and a creamy-smooth top-end and a beefy mid-to-bottom.
The cardioid capsule is possible to be replaced and is easily unscrewed from the body. The enclosure comes featuring a -10 dB pad for attenuating loud sources, and the gold-plated 3-pin XLR connector is ensuring a solid connection to an optional microphone cable at the same time. The WA-84 surely is built to offer a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz and capable to capture sources along with a maximum SPL of 133 dB (with the -10 dB pad engaged).
