The MONTAGE M6, MONTAGE M7, and MONTAGE M8x are the three new digital music instruments that Yamaha Corporation is releasing with their MONTAGE M line of Yamaha music synthesizers. The MONTAGE line of synthesizers has been replaced by this one.

Since the introduction of the SY-1 in 1974, Yamaha has continuously expanded its lineup of synthesizers. A pivotal moment came in 1983 with the release of the DX7, which revolutionized the global music scene with its digital FM synthesis tone generator. Subsequent milestones include the MOTIF in 2001 and, in May 2016, the unveiling of the flagship MONTAGE synthesizers, embraced by artists worldwide across diverse musical genres. The latest addition to the MONTAGE series is the MONTAGE M, representing the evolution of its predecessor. At the core of the "Motion Control Synthesis Engine" is Yamaha's AN-X virtual analog synthesis engine, meticulously crafted to replicate the rich, emotive sound of analog synthesizers while offering intricate modulation capabilities. Combined with the lifelike acoustic instrument sounds of the AWM2 engine and the uniquely expressive digital synthesis of the FM-X engine, these three Sound Engines elevate the already exceptional sound quality of the MONTAGE series to new heights. Incorporating user feedback, the MONTAGE M synthesizers feature an intuitive touchscreen interface complemented by an additional display at the upper left, enhancing accessibility to essential synthesizer parameters like Oscillators, Filters, EG, and Effects. This streamlined user interface empowers musician to unleash their creativity effortlessly. The MONTAGE M series offers a range of models tailored to different keyboardists' preferences and playing styles. Notably, the MONTAGE M8x marks Yamaha's debut of 88-key Polyphonic Aftertouch, enabling players to achieve unprecedented levels of expressiveness in their performances.
