Live or in the studio, ZED60-14FX is a compact, portable mixer that is ideal for small bands.

It is the type of mixer that is dreamed by guitarists. Guitars can be plugged straight and directly into the mixer without the need for DI boxes, because in 4 of its mono channels 2 of those have high impedance jack inputs that can take a normal line level or low level input from a guitar pickup. For incredible and outstanding definition and warmth is why these inputs have been designed and crafted to recreate the sound of a classic tube preamp in a combo or head amp. Also, for MP3/CD players or keyboards, two stereo inputs are provided.

For an easier way to capture a stereo recording in the studio or at the gig, ALLEN HEATH ZED60-14FX is made with configurable USB audio in/out. The ALLEN HEATH ZED60-14FX mixer is crafted with a flexible monitoring section with headphone and speaker feed outputs, professional XLR main stereo outputs, and 16 stunning FX.

USB AUDIO FLEXIBILITY

Getting audio from and to a computer has never been to easy, as in live sound and music production it is very common nowadays. ALLEN HEATH ZED60-14FX is crafted with the implementation of getting audio to and from computer, are now super-easy and it is super-flexible too! The old ways are no longer, as in this ALLEN HEATH ZED60-14FX you don’t need to fiddle around the back of your PC to get to he soundcard inputs, just only to find the levels are all wrong and noisy. Now, just plug in a USB lead to your ALLEN HEATH ZED60-14FX, and on your computer just select the USB routing on the mixer and the device and that’s all it takes! Capable also of CD quality audio from and to your PC or Mac. Switches and connection through jack socket terminals provide different send/return configurations.

MUSIQ

ZED60-14FX features a responsive 3-band, swept mid frequency EQ design which utilises MusiQ – with optimised slope (or Q factor) for equalising individual instruments.

ZED-FX

ALLEN HEATH ZED60-14FX is designed for small groups who don’t want to carry around much things like an effects unit with their gear but still strives to have great quality FX on their recordings and at their gigs, because it is created with an essential selection of 16 time-delay effects making it to be an all-around light build FX. You’ll find it enhance in its every performance, since our DSP engineers worked hard, refining and crafting beautiful reverb algorithms. These effects can be found nowhere else, but only in ALLEN HEATH ZED60-14FX, in its price point included both quality and integration. With just 3 buttons with 9 display LEDs ALLEN HEATH ZED60-14FX effects are easily controlled by that. For example, the perfect amount of reverb on the lead vocal can be dialled-in or the ideal delay time can be quickly tapped-in. Just as easy as using effects pedals there’s one-stop navigation and editing. To adjust the specific parameter for that effect, the TAP button is held down and the up/down buttons pressed, to alter effects parameters, just as an example, the decay length on PLATE, or the depth on CHORUS.

GUITAR DI

ALLEN HEATH ZED60-14FX's pre-amps are similar in design to our MixWizard range of mixers, but with a twist! Inputs 7 & 8 have a high impedance jack input capable of taking either a normal line level or a low level input from a guitar pickup. These newly designed inputs have been crafted with the aim of replicating the sound of a classic guitar or instrument tube pre-amp in a combo or head amp. An extremely high input impedance ensures loading on pick-ups is minimal and a Class A FET (field effect transistor) circuit powered from 48V is employed to give the valve-like gain stage. There is a gain “Boost” switch associated with the guitar inputs which boosts gain by 26dB to cater for instruments with very low level outputs and the overdrive characteristics of the guitar inputs are very similar to a valve (tube) circuit, being asymmetric and soft. All this makes for a wonderfully natural sound to be reproduced from the instrument, full of warmth and character.
