The Blackmagic Design UpDownCross 100G is a high-performance IP video standards converter built for modern 100G broadcast infrastructures. Designed for live production, television studios, and professional IP workflows, it enables seamless real-time conversion between multiple video standards while maintaining exceptional image quality, low latency, and maximum system reliability. Supporting up to eight simultaneous SMPTE ST 2110 video channels, the converter processes SD, HD, and Ultra HD video streams and instantly converts each one to the required output format. Dual 100GbE QSFP28 interfaces provide ultra-high-bandwidth connectivity, while SMPTE ST 2022-7 redundancy ensures uninterrupted signal transmission by automatically switching to a backup network path if needed—making it ideal for mission-critical broadcast environments.
Each video stream supports up to 16 channels of embedded audio, allowing synchronized audio and video to travel together across IP networks for streamlined production workflows. Designed for efficient operation, the front panel features a bright 2.2-inch LCD display, dedicated control buttons, and an integrated control knob for real-time monitoring of video, audio, and system status. A built-in speaker and headphone output provide instant audio confidence monitoring without requiring external equipment.
The converter also supports flexible system management through a dedicated RJ45 Ethernet port for NMOS-based network configuration, while a USB-C port simplifies setup and firmware updates. For maximum operational reliability, dual IEC power inputs provide redundant power, helping ensure continuous performance during live broadcasts and critical productions. Housed in a compact 1 RU rackmount chassis, the Blackmagic Design UpDownCross 100G delivers the speed, scalability, and redundancy required for today's advanced SMPTE ST 2110 IP broadcast facilities.
