As the largest control Surface in the dLive family, Allen Heath dLive S7 S Class S7000 is equipped with a whopping 216 assignable fader strips.  The S7000 can be overwhelming, but then again anything with power and performance will be.  dLive mixers are one of the top sold digital console out today, right next to the yamaha CL5 and CL series mixers. It has a distinctive attributes of 36 faders over 6 layers, for the fastest workflow in the industry is the innovative Harmony UI and dual 12" capacitive touchscreens.

Harmony User Interface

This Allen Heath dLive S7 S Class S7000 is a true digital native, working just like how we are so familiar in using, without even thinking, those smartphones and tablets, that can be found anywhere, that is what many digital consoles are working, to recreate the experience of using an analogue mixer, but Allen Heath dLive S7 S Class S7000 makes a huge difference and very familiar and easy to use. Every pinch, drag and drop, swipe and other gestures are responding just exactly how you'd expect them to be, that makes it to work for you to feel instanly familiar with it's single or twin 12" capacitive touchscreens on the dLive consoles. To keep track of scenes, meters, FX and other custom controls, Bespoke ‘widget’ areas can also be set up on the screens. With a set of one knob/ one function rotary control framed the screen, this allow the urgency and creativity of tactile control over key processing functions, working along in harmony with the visual feedback in the screen displayed. To achieve optimal grip and precision control, the rotary knobs have been prototyped 20+ times, and it has an attributes of RGB illuminations, with colours arranged to functions for instant visual orientation.

Transparent Workflow

Engineers can find themselves feeling increasingly removed from the action on stage as they are drawn more and more into managing the arsenal of technologies at their disposal as the systems become ever more complex and as I/O counts grow exponentially. On our process of design and crafting of the dLive our guiding aim has been to make transparent and fast workflows that allow the engineer to focus not on the mixer but instead on the mix exactly. To allow the user to create a mixing interface that matches their own mental map of the show in the mixing, the Allen Heath dLive S7 S Class S7000's layout is fully customisable. In any and every band and/ or layer, every input or mix can be assigned to any of it, inputs and mixes to be named clearly and colour coded, the virtual scribble strips allow them to, for at-a-glance navigation, it has 26 assignable SoftKeys at their disposal, plus 3 pages of 6 assignable rotaries per screen, so the engineer has no less than those.

Built To Endure

Maybe it’s no coincidence that our lead mechanical designer on the dLive project used to be a tank commander. All dLive consoles have been designed to deliver the optimal balance between strength and weight, employing higher grade metal on the sides and folded steel at key points for added rigidity. Not only does every console, MixRack and expander have dual power supply slots for redundancy, but we’ve also employed the same rugged, hot-swappable PSU design across the range for maximum peace of mind and minimum inventory. Dual redundancy is also built into every audio connection throughout the system. We have also paid particular attention to console illumination, conducting rigorous trials to ensure that dLive excels in the sunny, outdoor settings where many digital consoles become almost unusable.
