LAB GRUPPEN D 80:4L_US2 8000W Amplifier with 4 Flexible Output-Channels, Lake Digital Signal Processing, and Digital Audio Networking for Installation Applications (D 80:4L)

The D 80:4L brings together 8000 watts of adaptable power along with cutting-edge Lake DSP, DANTE digital audio networking, and advanced system integrity monitoring.

Legendary Technology and Power

The D 80:4L builds upon the established foundation of high-power amplifier technologies seen in our prestigious PLM Series. Renowned for reliability and sonic excellence during intense concert tours and in major installations worldwide, these core technologies have been enhanced and tailored for the most demanding digitally networked sound applications. Beyond Lab Gruppen's legendary reliability and sound quality, the D Series integrates refined output stage technologies and installation-focused hardware and software features. This amalgamation of innovations streamlines amplifier system design and configuration, empowering systems integrators to reduce initial equipment costs and long-term energy consumption for end users.

Rational Power Management (RPM)

Rational Power Management (RPM), a proprietary technology by Lab Gruppen, lies at the heart of the D Series platform. It grants unprecedented flexibility to system designers and integrators by allowing them to optimize each channel's output power for precise performance under specific load conditions. RPM not only minimizes initial equipment costs but also addresses the challenge of excessive power wastage on conventional amplifiers. Typically, these amps are "over-specified" to meet the maximum power demand of one channel, resulting in wasted power capacity across the remaining channels. RPM resolves this by reallocating power capacity among the four channels, allowing a single channel on the D 80:4T/Ta to output up to 5000 W. This leaves any remaining power to be efficiently allocated to less demanding channels, effectively utilizing available resources.

CAFE for Green Credentials

The D 80:4T offers versatile configuration and monitoring through the innovative CAFE (Configuring Amplifiers For the Environment) software suite. Alongside comprehensive surveillance and configuration of Rational Power Management (RPM) features, CAFE introduces the Equipment Specification Predictor (ESP). This advanced tool assesses system and load requirements, providing tailored recommendations for the installation, including optimal model and quantity of D Series units, heat generation, channel distribution, and current draw. Ultimately, it ensures accurate mains management and precise specifications for cooling systems and UPS as needed.

The Power of Lake Processing

The D Series Lake amplifiers offer unparalleled input flexibility and the renowned power of exclusive Lake processing algorithms. They provide comprehensive control and load monitoring through the Lake Controller, seamlessly integrating into Dante digital audio networks. These models support integration into other popular networked digital matrix systems using third-party middleware. Equipped with four full-featured Lake Processing modules and four discrete audio throughput channels, they offer a wide range of selectable audio signals: four channels of analog (each with exclusive Iso-float ground isolation), four channels of AES3 digital, and eight dual redundant Dante networked digital inputs. Each channel allows individual signal selection, with programmable failover to analog, while the onboard Lake processor features group control with Raised Cosine™ MESA EQ™ asymmetric filters, ensuring compatibility with various loudspeaker systems. The LimiterMax™ peak and RMS limiters establish an industry benchmark for loudspeaker protection and sonic clarity.

Rational Power Management

RPM grants unparalleled flexibility in distributing the available 8000 W power among the four channels of the D 80:4 amplifier, ensuring optimal utilization of the amplifier inventory. A single channel can handle up to 5000 W without the need for bridging, leaving surplus power to be assigned across other channels as needed. This configuration equips the D 80:4 to meet the demands of nearly all high-powered performance installations, except those that require the most extreme power consumption.

Lake Processing with DANTE

The resilient power foundation of the D Series seamlessly integrates with the inclusion of dual-integrated Lake Processing modules. These modules embody essential Lake functionalities like Raised Cosine Equalization™, Limiter Max™ peak and RMS limiters, and Iso-Float™ ground isolation. Standard features also include AES3 digital and dual-redundant Dante networked inputs, ensuring compliance and reliability for mission-critical PA/VA applications.

Real World Green Credentials

The integration of exclusive power supply technologies, ensuring top-notch and predictable low current utilization for power output, alongside groundbreaking CAFE software, enhances mains control. This innovative setup facilitates substantial cost savings on essential infrastructure like cooling and UPS systems, effectively reducing the overall setup and operational expenses of a venue's audio system.
