The Lectrosonics DM84 is a versatile 8-input, 4-output digital matrix processor designed for professional sound reinforcement, conferencing, and installed audio applications. Its flexible routing architecture allows any combination of inputs to be assigned to any combination of outputs, while its latest-generation DSP platform provides extremely low processing latency. The DM84 features patented Adaptive Proportional Gain technology for automatic microphone mixing, helping maintain consistent and natural audio levels when multiple microphones are active. Each input and output includes sophisticated filtering, while dedicated compression and limiting functions provide additional control over signal dynamics. Flexible delay processing allows up to 100 ms of delay on each input and up to 250 ms on each output, making the processor suitable for systems requiring precise loudspeaker and signal alignment.

For larger installations, multiple DM84 units can be connected through the Digital Audio Network Interface (DANI) bus. Up to three units can be combined to expand the system to either a 16×8 or 24×12 mixing matrix. The DM84 also features a phantom mix mode, allowing multiple mix buses to be combined into a single NOM bus for mix-minus sound reinforcement applications. The unit provides eight mic/line inputs and four mic/line outputs, with switchable phantom power for condenser microphones. Front-panel controls provide convenient gain adjustment and channel activity monitoring, while USB and RS-232 interfaces support system setup and control. Integration with AMX and Crestron control systems, along with a programmable I/O interface for contact closures and voltage-level control, makes the DM84 well suited for sophisticated installed audio environments.
