Allen & Heath AH-M-DX32-PRIME-IN-A DX32 PRIME Mic/Line Input Module - 8 XLR

With a breathtaking transient response, full range linearity, and an ultra-flat frequency response from 1Hz to 40kHz, PRIME provides the mix engine with detailed and articulate audio at the highest resolution imaginable. In contrast to conventional preamps, PRIME incorporates a DC-coupled gain stage that completely removes the LF distortion common to AC coupling, greatly enhancing low-frequency linearity and phase responsiveness. This novel design necessitates meticulous component arrangement and selection, as well as labor-intensive per-channel component cutting during commissioning.

ULTRA-LINEAR DESIGN AND COMPONENTS

Our design team created a number of modifications to enhance the handling of high input levels because linearity was crucial to the design process. Thermally caused very low frequency anomalies are drastically reduced on the front end by a super-matched low noise quad transistor package. In the signal route, audiophile-grade Nichicon FG (Fine Gold) electrolytic capacitors that were created utilizing cutting-edge etching processes have been used. Naturally, the most up-to-date 32-bit/96-kHz analog-to-digital converters are utilized in PRIME, but more crucially, the design team utilized many devices in parallel on each channel to minimize distortion and enhance noise and dynamic range. For every pair of input channels, 8 channels of analog-to-digital conversion are used, resulting in more headroom and better SNR than traditional AD implementations.

The ADC system can also be user configured for anti-aliasing roll-off characteristics: either fast or slow roll-off and ultra-low latency delay, the sound engineer can pick optimal settings for particular applications or music. To further preserve signal integrity, the PRIME circuitry is encased in full metal shielding for increased RF rejection throughout the signal path. Finally, before a PRIME Input module leaves our factory, each unit has its individual preamps trimmed by hand to meet our exacting requirements for feedback path and common mode rejection.

BUILD YOUR PRIME RACK

Any combination of PRIME Input and Output cards can be installed in a DX32 modular expander. PRIME modules can also be mixed with existing analog and digital DX32 I/O modules.

Maximum PRIME I/O in fully expanded dLive and SQ systems:

- dLive S Class: 92 PRIME I/O modules

- dLive C Class: 44 PRIME I/O modules

- Avantis: 48 PRIME I/O modules

- SQ: 32 PRIME I/O modules
