Sonifex RB-SD1IP Silence Detection Unit with Ethernet & USB

An improved model of the RB-SD1 is the RB-SD1IP Silence Detection Unit. The unit is a 1U rack-mount device that monitors an unattended stereo studio feed. It will switch to a different stereo audio source if the signal becomes "quiet" after a predetermined amount of time. This signal could come from an alternate recorded program, a feed from a flashcard player, sounds from a linked USB flash drive, or a recorded message (such as "Normal service will be resumed"). There are controls to turn on external devices and show the status remotely.

Novelty Features:

The RB-SD1IP has several additional features in addition to all of the capabilities of the regular RB-SD1. A browser-based GUI can be used to configure and control the device when it is connected to an Ethernet network. The user can adjust the duration of the silence (1 second to 24 hours) and the silence level (-60dBu to 0dBu in 3dBu steps) more precisely thanks to the network capabilities. The unit's front panel controls can also be remotely locked or unlocked, and you can choose to use the web-based or hardware-configured settings. The GUI home page provides a real-time display of signal levels and alert statuses in addition to the front panel LEDs.

Left and right channels can be handled individually using the new web GUI, and remote relay triggers can be set up as one of several events, including the new GPIO pins. Additionally, you have the option to lock or unlock the ability to operate the device via the remote pins, and the online GUI may be used to update the firmware.
To enable the unit to be managed by current network management systems, SNMP V1 is integrated. The rear panel's six additional GPIO pins provide customizable features, such as the ability to use the RB-SD1IP network interface to create SNMP Traps on behalf of non-networked hardware. The RB-SD1IP has been fitted with a USB interface on the front panel and can act as a host in two ways. Firstly the USB port can be used to upgrade the firmware on the unit from a USB flash drive. Secondly, such a drive can hold a pre-recorded message which the unit can play out if both main and auxiliary signals fall silent.

Key Features

  • IP Enabled with Web Browser control interface.
