The DPA 4660 CORE is a professionally designed moisture-resistant, miniature lavalier microphone that comes along with heavy-duty construction which is carefully created for use along with wireless systems for theatrical, broadcast and performance applications. The electret-condenser capsule is capable to deliver a intelligible, crisp and clear speech, and also the rugged yet unobtrusive design is made very well suited to the demands of professional live stage work and presentations at the same time.

The 4660 is built along with a thicker 2.2mm cable, stainless-steel housing and reinforced strain relief which designed for enabling the mic to be capable in withstanding tough conditions in a different variety of difficult working environments. The capsule comes using the DPA's CORE technology intended for delivering a 6 dB increase in dynamic range and a 6 dB reduction in noise over the 4660 Legacy model.

Equipped with two interchangeable capsule protection grids capable of altering the sonic character of the mic. The High-Boost Grid is creating a peak at 12 kHz which is intended to be helpful for chest placement, and the Soft-Boost Grid is offering a subtle boost between 8 to 20 kHz at the same time, it also lightly enhancing signal presence for ensuring the clarity.

Also comes with an SPL rating of 134 dB, the microphone is made more than capable of handling most standard presenters, speakers, and vocalists. The mic is also possible to be used very effectively for capturing the instruments—which makes it a flexible tool for use in houses of worship and live event productions. The 4660 CORE is powered by 5 to 10V plug-in power from a wireless transmitter and also featuring a modular design with the use of a Microdot output connector. Versions include color Black and Beige. Connector variants: 3-pin LEMO adapter compatible with Lectrosonics SSM, Sennheiser SK, and Wisycom MTP transmitters and TA5F adapter compatible with select Lectrosonics transmitters.
