LAB GRUPPEN PLM 20K44 BP_002 20,000W Amplifier with 4 Flexible Output-Channels on Binding Post Connectors, Lake Digital Signal Processing and Digital Audio Networking for Touring Applications (PLM 20K44 BP_002)
The PLM 20K44 forges a new path in the world of powered loudspeaker management systems, building upon the renowned Lab Gruppen touring legacy established by the iconic PLM 20000Q. Evolving into an extended 4-in, 4-out configuration with doubled processing power through the latest Lake Controller version 6.3, and incorporating industry-standard Dante® networking, the PLM 20K44 redefines the benchmark for these systems. This powerhouse integrates four channels of immensely potent amplification with unparalleled signal processing and audio management. The core principle lies in the seamless integration of all elements—networking, audio I/O, signal processing, amplifiers, power supply, and mains supply—empowering complete control and monitoring over the entire platform. The result is a platform brimming with distinctive operational advantages.
The Power of Lake Processing
The PLM 20K44 houses the formidable prowess of the exclusive Lake Processing algorithms, integrating four complete Lake modules with four independent channels of audio throughput from input to output. Audio signals can be sourced from four analog channels (with Iso-Float ground isolation), four AES3 digital inputs, and eight dual redundant Dante networked digital inputs. Each channel allows individual signal selection, with programmable failover to a lower prioritized input. Its fully-fledged onboard Lake Processor encompasses group control featuring Raised Cosine MESA EQ asymmetric filters, designed to align with the responses of any loudspeaker system. Setting the industry standard for loudspeaker protection and sonic transparency, the LimiterMax peak and RMS limiters further fortify the audio processing capabilities. Included with the PLM 20K44 is the comprehensive Lake Controller software, delivering a unified interface for Lake function control and extensive monitoring of both amplifier status and connected loudspeaker loads. Optimized for wireless tablet PCs, the Lake Controller offers intuitive operation, providing a real-time feel akin to analog faders and controls. Moreover, it seamlessly integrates with third-party real-time sound system measurement, optimization, and control software, enabling simultaneous spectrum measurement, transfer function adjustment, and system EQ via a unified user interface. Lake Processing offers classical crossovers selectable up to 48 dB per octave and linear-phase crossovers capable of slopes exceeding 180 dB per octave. These features grant greater control over limiting lobing and off-axis cancellation.
CAFÉ for Green Credentials
CAFÉ (Configuring Amplifiers For the Environment) serves as a comprehensive software suite tailored to effortlessly configure and monitor the PLM 20K44, optimizing its operation for maximum efficiency. Beyond its role in system surveillance and configuring amplifier features like ISVPL and Breaker Emulation Limiter (BEL), CAFÉ also champions environmental sustainability. It accurately forecasts average mains current draw and heat generation, leveraging the innovative power supply technologies in the PLM+ Series, coupled with BEL, to regulate mains draw to a projected level. The result? Precise mains management and thermal control, facilitating more accurate provisioning of mains distribution, cabling, and cooling. CAFÉ significantly reduces lifetime running costs, minimizes environmental impact, and alleviates the strain on UPS systems. Moreover, CAFÉ features an Equipment Specification Predictor (ESP) that stands as a groundbreaking design aid. It analyzes system SPL and speaker requirements, translating this data into circuit and amplifier channel needs. On a holistic system level, CAFÉ offers recommendations for the optimal placement of channels into amplifiers, ensuring the most cost-effective solution and minimizing wasted headroom by suggesting quantities of PLM+ series models for a more streamlined equipment setup.
Allocate Power Where It Is Needed
RPM (Rational Power Management) offers unparalleled versatility in distributing power output across channels to precisely meet distinct load demands, optimizing the utilization of amplifier resources for enhanced efficiency.
More is More: Power, Performance, and Processing
PLM+ offers unprecedented levels of refined performance, double the processing power, and even better overall efficiency – proven, tested, and trusted.
CAFÉ with ESP: Configuration, Control and Monitoring
Lab Gruppen’s dedicated integrated software provides comprehensive system surveillance, reducing running costs and minimizing environmental impact.
