The Marshall Electronics 7" 1024 x 600 Camera-Top Monitor with Sony Battery Mount boasts a brightness output of 500 cd/m2, a contrast ratio of 700:1, a resolution of 1024 x 600, multiple inputs, and the ability to switch between HD, 3G, and analog formats. The menu at the front of the monitor allows you to change the image's color, exposure, picture orientation, or aspect ratio from full screen to 4:3, 14:9, and 16:9. The base plate mounts on the back of the monitor and takes various types of battery plates.

False Color Filter

The camera exposure is adjusted using the false color filter. The image's parts will change color as the camera's iris is modified, depending on the brightness or luminance settings.

Peaking Filter

A black-and-white image is all that's left on the screen after the peaking filter eliminates all color. Wherever there are sharp edges on the screen, the internal processor will highlight those areas in red. Certain areas of the image will have RED-colored edges when the camera operator changes (or "racks") the focus adjustment (on the camera lens), indicating that this area is crisp or in focus. To attain the appropriate focus, move the camera lens focus control back and forth until the desired area of the image has edges that are tinted red.
