The Neumann U 47 FET is professionally built according to the original production documents and schematics of the classic design, this Collector's Edition Condenser Microphone from Neumann is a re-release of this often-copied microphone. A transistorized version of their tube U 47, the U 47 fet comes featuring their classic K 47 capsule and is boasting a high SPL handling, and comes with historically found itself at home outside of a kick drum and in front of loud guitar and bass amps, contributing greatly to recordings from the 1960s and 70s. Like the original, there is a slight boost in frequency response around 2 kHz.
The mic is built featuring the same low-cut filter as the original at 140 Hz, as well as the selectable -10 dB pad. For additional attenuation, there is a -6 dB output switch, this allows you for hitting your mic preamps at a lower level.
