Sonifex AVN-DIO03 Dante® to Headphone Output (1/4" & 3.5mm StereoJacks With Volume Control)

The Sonifex DIO line of Dante input/output devices includes the AVN-DIO03, a Dante AoIP network-to-headphones convertor. It has a single stereo headphone output that can be connected to two 1/4" and 3.5mm jacks, a volume control to adjust the level of your headphones, and an LED indication and threshold limiter that you may turn on to prevent overshooting and save your hearing. If the Dante stream level is low and needs to be boosted, the front panel potentiometer can be used to modify headphone volume from mute (completely anticlockwise) to +6dB of gain when fully clockwise.

To prevent hearing damage, a basic headphone limiter is implemented, which lowers the audio level supplied to the headphones. With a trimmer adjustment tool or small flat-blade screwdriver, the limit level can be adjusted between roughly -12dBu (completely anticlockwise) and 0dBu (fully clockwise). The blue limit LED turns on when limiting. This should indicate to you that the audio quality will decrease while the limiter is in operation, therefore you should lower the headphone level until the blue LED goes off. All Sonifex DIO interfaces offer a straightforward, practical, and sophisticated plug-and-play solution for tying old digital and analog audio equipment to the Dante AoIP audio network.

* Note: Because the headphone output of this device is unbalanced, performance is 6dB lower than for balanced AVN-DIO products.
