The Auricon 4.4, a high-quality analogue PCIe audio card, features four stereo input and four stereo output channels. These channels can be reconfigured into separate mono channels, effectively providing eight inputs and outputs. Equipped with a Windows WDM driver, the card offers full sound card functionality across various Windows operating systems, including XP, Server 2003, Vista, Server 2008, Windows 7, Server 2008R2, Windows 8, Server 2012, Windows 10, and Windows Server 2016. Utilizing 24-bit 192kHz sigma-delta converters, the Auricon 4.4 facilitates seamless data transfer to and from the PC via a single-lane PCI Express interface. Additionally, an onboard FPGA enhances performance by providing audio buffering, level adjustment, and mixing functions. The card supports hardware sampling rates of 48kHz, 96kHz, and 192kHz, with extended bit depths of up to 32 bits. Users can independently configure the software sampling rate and bit depth (32, 24, 16, or 8-bit PCM) for each input and output channel.

Compatible with various Windows audio APIs, including Wave, DirectSound, and DirectShow, the Auricon 4.4 also supports multiple audio compression modes via the Windows Audio Compression Manager. For Vista/Server 2008 and later systems, full support for the Core Audio API is available. Featuring four configuration settings, including Mode (stereo/mono), H/W Sampling Rate, Input Coupling, and Maximum Line Level, the Auricon 4.4 offers flexible customization options. Additionally, the card allows for the installation of multiple units in a single PC. An optional 44-pin high-density D-type connector to XLRs breakout lead is available for added convenience.
