Sonifex RB-PLI6 6-Way Mono Passive Line Isolation Unit
Audio signals from inter-area ground hum loops, which may be created by equipment powered by separate main power supplies or phases on the same supply, can be isolated using the RB-PLI6 passive line isolation unit. A transformer connects the input and output, and internal jumpers in the device enable the inputs and/or outputs to be balanced concerning the ground. The device may operate without mains power. When audio needs to be driven over a sizable amount of cable, this device comes in handy. Ground loop currents, which might exist in non-isolated transmissions, are eliminated by isolating the signal using transformers.
