Audio signals from inter-area ground hum loops, which may result from devices powered by separate main power supplies or different phases on a single supply, are isolated using the RB-LI2 stereo line isolation unit. A transformer, which contains internal jumpers to enable the outputs to be balanced about the ground, connects the input and output. Additionally, the RB-LI2 has a loop-through output that enables it to be connected to a line and create a transformer-balanced distribution point. By utilizing the rear panel to access pre-set potentiometers, the separated outputs can be separately changed. The stereo line isolation unit's gain range is -15dB to +13.5dB (28.5dB). When audio needs to be driven over a sizable amount of cable, this device comes in handy. Ground loop currents that can exist in non-isolated transmissions are eliminated by isolating the signal with transformers.
