Sound Devices MM-1 Single-Channel Portable Microphone Preamp

The Sound Devices MM-1 is a headphone monitor and single-channel portable microphone preamp that is intended for use in corporate and industrial settings, broadcast and ENG, field recording, voice-over work, and film (boom operators). With an audio bandwidth spanning from 10 Hz to 50 kHz and a dynamic range reaching 120 dB, the mic preamp has superb audio quality. +48, 12V, and 12V-T phantom powers are user-switchable through the balanced XLR microphone input. Balanced or unbalanced line-level signals are accepted via a separate balanced monitor input. An external line-level signal, microphone signal, or a combination of both can be monitored via the 1/4" TRS headphone output. A low-cut filter switch with three settings reduces noise below 80 and 160 Hz. The compact unit features a belt clip and is powered by separately available 2 AA batteries or external DC power source.
