The RB-VHEMA8 is a compact 8-channel analogue embedder designed for easy integration into a standard 19-inch rack unit. It enables users to selectively embed up to 8 analogue channels onto two output video paths, which are then sent to the re-clocked SDI outputs. Additionally, the unit offers the flexibility to delete or pass through audio groups on each video path before embedding. Control of the embedding channel routing is facilitated through the front panel buttons and indicators. LED indicators are also provided to denote SDI input status and audio group presence.
The unit offers remote control functionality through Ethernet or serial port connections using the Sonifex SCi software. Featuring a triple-rate SDI receiver with automatic input rate detection and equalization, it provides two re-clocked and individually buffered SDI outputs. It supports the complete range of single-link 3G, SD, and HD standards from NTSC and PAL up to 1080p 60Hz. Each analogue input channel boasts independent level control, adjustable from -24dB to +24dB in 0.5dB increments. Inside the unit, jumpers facilitate the selection of three full-scale gain settings: +12dBu, +18dBu, and +24dBu for FSD. Both balanced and unbalanced input connections are available, allowing for the use of either type per input.
