The RB-DAC1 D/A Converter is a 1U rack-mount device that converts an incoming AES/EBU or S/PDIF digital input signal into a stereo-balanced XLR or unbalanced phono output using a device capable of 24-bit, 192 kHz. For monitoring reasons, there is also a headphone output with volume control. With the output level control on the analog outputs, full-scale values can be chosen between +12dBu, +18dBu, or +24dBu. There is an additional 8.5dBu attenuation built into the RCA phono outputs. On the rear panel of the D/A converter, there is a button that allows you to choose between the S/PDIF and AES/EBU inputs. Furthermore, if de-emphasis is chosen, the RB-DAC1 will decode 50/15µs emphasis when specific channel status bits in the incoming digital audio data indicate such a thing.

When operating, the front panel power LED flashes whenever the unit is not synchronized to the incoming digital signal.
