CEDAR DNS 4 4-Channel Dialogue Noise Suppressor

The most sophisticated portable device in the DNS series is the DNS 4. Although it doubles the number of channels accessible, it occupies somewhat more space than the industry-standard DNS 2 due to its Hirose HR-10 power input and mini-XLRs for numerous connections. The DNS algorithm is very easy to use and fast; all you have to do is turn on the Learn function, which recognizes and adjusts to background noise, and then change the appropriate amount of noise attenuation. Even with its simplicity, it can produce amazing outcomes. Furthermore, it has AES3/AES11 digital inputs, both analog and digital outputs, and very low-noise microphone and analog line inputs (the latter with optional 48V phantom powering) in addition to being so small and lightweight that it fits into your pocket or equipment bag. It can also be used in the studio or edit suite as well as in a field thanks to its 12V power source, which adds even more versatility to it. Retaining the near-zero latency of its predecessors, the DNS 4 is suitable for use in all situations - location recording, live-to-air broadcasting, and live sound in venues such as theatres and concert halls, conference venues, and places of worship, as well as in the studio.

The dialogue noise suppressors that everyone uses everywhere

The best productions and broadcasts use CEDAR's dialogue noise suppression (DNS) technology to remove background noise from audio, including air conditioning, wind, rain, babbling, and traffic noise. In addition to mitigating the effects of unfavorable acoustic conditions and awkward microphone positioning, it will even significantly reduce reverberation. It is used to improve speech for audio forensic investigations, clean up sound for film production, decrease background noise for live broadcasting, and update sound libraries. Several accolades, including an Emmy®, an Academy Award®, an IABM Award®, and two Cinema Audio Society Awards, have been bestowed upon this industry standard.
